Community Grants and Funding

We offer Community Funding Grants to support local voluntary and community sector organisations delivering projects and services within Cherwell. These grants aim to strengthen our community by supporting initiatives that address local needs and contribute to the Council's strategic priorities. 

Community Funding Grants available 

Household Support Fund Grant

Cherwell District Council is offering grants for capital/revenue for community groups to support residents with the cost of living. 

Applications closed for the first tranche of this funding on Sunday 23 November. Successful applicants will be notified within 2 weeks of this closing date.

The next round the Household Support Fund Grant will start on Monday 8 December and close on Sunday 18 January.  Further information and application form will be published early in December.

Brighter Futures in Banbury - Community Insight Fund

The Brighter Futures in Banbury Community Insight fund funds projects that promote health and wellbeing and strengthens communities in the Ruscote, Neithrop and Grumsbury areas.

Applications for grants of upto £3,000 per project are invited, with closing deadline Wednesday 31 December 2025.

The Cherwell Community Lottery

The Cherwell Community Lottery enables participating local groups (“good cause partners”) to benefit directly from tickets bought by their supporters. We want to ensure that the Lottery benefits as many good causes as possible, including “grass roots” groups in towns and villages across the district.
