Cherwell District Council's Executive agreed at its meeting on Monday, 5 October, to recommend that Full Council adopt the Bloxham Modified Neighbourhood Plan following the referendum on 27 August in which more than 85 per cent of voters backed the plan.

The updated plan covers the period to 2042 and has been prepared by the local community to help guide future planning decisions in Bloxham. It includes policies on housing, infrastructure, parking, local green spaces, support for businesses and protecting the village's historic character.

Councillor Chris Aramini-Brant, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Enforcement, said: "I'd like to thank everyone who helped shape the Bloxham neighbourhood plan and the residents who took part in the referendum.

"The strong support shown by the community demonstrates how important it is that local people have a meaningful say in the future of the places they call home.

"Neighbourhood plans are a valuable way for communities to help shape future development and reflect the priorities that matter most to local residents. By recommending this updated plan for adoption, we are helping to ensure those local views continue to play an important role in planning decisions in Bloxham."

Full Council will now consider the recommendation on 19 October. If approved, the neighbourhood plan will be formally adopted and will continue to help guide planning decisions in Bloxham alongside local and national planning policies.
