Residents from across north Oxfordshire are being encouraged to take the next step in their careers at this autumn's Banbury Jobs Fair.

The free event, organised by Cherwell District Council in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, will see employers, training providers and work-related services come together at Banbury Town Hall on Wednesday, 30 September, from 10am to 1pm.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet employers from a wide range of sectors, including retail, hospitality, manufacturing, health and social care, construction, education, transport and logistics. Whether attendees are looking for their first job, returning to work, seeking a career change or hoping to progress in their current field, the event will provide access to vacancies, advice and practical support.
Alongside recruitment opportunities, attendees can speak with organisations offering apprenticeships, skills development and training programmes designed to help people build confidence and improve their employment prospects.
Councillor Lesley McLean, Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, said: "The Banbury Jobs Fair is about connecting people with opportunities and helping them take positive steps towards their career goals. Bringing employers and support organisations together in one place gives residents the chance to discover roles they may not have previously considered and access advice that could make a real difference to their future.
"We are pleased that recent analysis by the Institute for Public Policy Research ranked Cherwell sixth in the country for employment opportunities for young people. That reflects positively on our local economy and the opportunities available here, but we are not standing still. Jobs fairs like this are an important part of helping people of all ages connect with employers, training and practical support.
"Cherwell continues to be home to a diverse and thriving economy, and events like this help businesses to thrive and ensure local people can benefit from the opportunities available across the district.”
The event will also feature organisations offering specialist support for different groups of jobseekers, including young people and those over 50. Signposting on mental wellbeing, volunteering opportunities and CV development will also be available.
Banbury Jobs Fair will take place on Wednesday, 30 September, from 10am to 1pm at Banbury Town Hall, Bridge Street, Banbury, OX16 5QB. Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
