Run by Cherwell District Council and Jobcentre Plus, the event will be full of useful information for anyone looking to take the next step in their career, whether they are currently in work or not.
It will take place on Wednesday, 18 March at Castle Quay Shopping Centre (Unit 42, near the council’s offices) in Banbury, from 10am to 1pm. It will include representatives from a range of sectors and industries, such as retail, hospitality, manufacturing, care, education, health, driving, construction, and many others.
There will be plenty of information and guidance for all jobseekers, including personal development and apprenticeship opportunities.
Councillor Lesley McLean, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Finance, Property and Regeneration, said: “For anyone who’s looking for work or a change in direction, Banbury Jobs and Support Fair is a great opportunity to meet employers in person, explore different career paths, and ask any burning questions they may have.
“Our resilient and dynamic economy means that Cherwell offers lots of possibilities for anyone looking to take the next step in their career, and by bringing employers and skills agencies together at this friendly event, we hope to help jobseekers realise their ambitions and find success in the workplace.”
The fair will also provide an opportunity to explore volunteering options, to build experience and confidence, and to develop a compelling CV.
Services providing tailored help for the over-fifties and young people; assistance for those with long-term health conditions; and mental health support will also be represented on the day.
Banbury Jobs and Support Fair is happening on Wednesday, 18 March, from 10am to 1pm at Unit 42, Castle Quay Shopping Centre, OX16 5UN and is open to everyone.
