Urban design
Urban design takes a holistic approach to designing places for people. The successful combination of high quality of public realm with architecture, highways, landscape, wildlife and heritage are vital if we are to create opportunities for community development and social interaction within safe and healthy environments.
The Cherwell district is known for its distinctive picturesque villages and diverse, historic market town centres. These places have a strong character rooted in the local landscape and have evolved over many centuries. Cherwell District Council is committed to protecting and enhancing the special character of the district.
Urban design seeks to work closely with local communities, interest groups and across professions to create places of distinction that we can be proud of.
