We receive and process EIR requests for access to information held by public authorities.

How we use your information collected by the service
The personal data that you provide will be used to process your request for information and the legal basis for this processing is Environmental Information Regulations 2004. You must complete this form in order for the Council to process your request and respond to you. If you do not provide this information as part of this form the Council will not be able to consider your request.
Your personal data will be shared with Cherwell District Council officers only. Any request for information which requires information from our contractors will be anonymised before it is passed to them.
Your personal data will be kept for three years after the calendar year the request was responded to. You have the right to access your personal data and to complain if you think your data is being used incorrectly. You may also have other rights, such as to have your data corrected or erased.
Who will have access to my personal data?
The information you provide will only be used by the Council and will not be shared with any other organisation without obtaining your consent.
The Council take all precautions to ensure your personal data is secure and used only for the purposes for which it was obtained, unless permitted by law to process it for other purposes.
What information is processed?
The information processed includes name, address, contact details and copies of your proof of identification.
Retention period
Unless required for an ongoing investigation, the information provided will be retained for three years after which time the information will be securely destroyed. Information retained for an ongoing investigation will be securely destroyed as soon as it is no longer required.
