The latest greenhouse gas reports show that almost 25% of the Cherwell District's CO2e emissions come from commerce and industry. To address this, the CDC is considering conducting short knowledge-gathering workshops with local business owners. By understanding what prevents individuals or organisations from becoming greener, the CDC can address challenges such as financial constraints, lack of information, or practical difficulties. This knowledge will enable the council to provide more tailored support through grants, educational resources, or policy changes.
To further assist businesses on their sustainability journey, the council invites business owners to complete an interest form and participate in workshops designed to enhance their understanding of sustainable practices. These workshops will offer practical insights, actionable strategies, and opportunities to collaborate with other businesses. By identifying the types of support needed—whether funding, technical advice, or access to greener infrastructure—the council aims to empower businesses to overcome barriers and contribute meaningfully to the district's sustainability goals.
