Banbury is Oxfordshire’s largest town, with a population of around 60,000. Situated between London and Birmingham, Banbury is exceptionally well connected, offering fast rail and motorway links that support its growing economy and vibrant lifestyle.

Our Vision for Banbury

We’re building a place where people want to live, work and visit — connected by green travel options, inspired by scientific discovery, and grounded in local community life. With new homes, new jobs, and inclusive public spaces, Banbury is future-ready.

A thriving Oxfordshire market town

This historic market town has deep roots in trade, canals, and manufacturing, and today it stands at the heart of Banbury regeneration and economic development in Cherwell. With a thriving mix of retail, leisure, and advanced manufacturing, Banbury is a key driver in Oxfordshire’s innovation powerhouse.

Local attractions like Castle Quay, the Banbury Museum and Gallery, and the annual Canal Festival draw visitors year-round, while new investment in public spaces and active travel continue to shape a town that’s future-ready.

Frontier Park: New industrial logistics/development with easy access to J11 of the M40 motorway.

How you can get involved

Banbury's Public Realm Strategy Framework provides a number of suggestions for improvements to public spaces within the town centre. The suggestions made would need to be further developed and would be dependent upon funding in order to be fulfilled.
