Changes to Christmas and New Year bin collections

Over the festive period there will be changes to some bin collection days as follows.

  • Collections due to take place on Thursday 25 December will take place on Monday 22 December.
  • Collections due on Friday 26 December will take place on Saturday 27 December.
  • Collections due on Thursday 1 January will take place on Saturday 3 January.

If your usual recycling or general waste collection day isn’t listed above, your service will run as normal.

Garden waste collections

There will be no garden waste collections between Monday 22 December 2025 and Saturday 3 January 2026 inclusive. This is to allow our crews to prioritise the additional recycling and food waste that accrues over Christmas.

Real Christmas tree collections

We will be collecting real Christmas trees from Tuesday 6 January until and including Friday 16 January.  Any tree that is over 5ft tall must be cut in half.  Christmas trees will only be collected on your recycling week, therefore please only leave your tree next to your blue recycling bin on collection day.

Information for residents of flats

If you live in a flat, there may not be any bin collection information when you search for your address.  Some flats in the district are collected on different days to your neighbouring properties.

Bin collection changes over the holidays

There may be changes to some collection dates at Christmas and New Year but if your bin day does change, we will let you know via our website and social media.  Please note that Good Friday bin collections will take place as usual.
