Further Consultation on the Partial Review of the Cherwell Local Plan

The Partial Review of the Local Plan was submitted for independent Examination in March 2018. The appointed Planning Inspector held public hearings in September 2018 and February 2019.

He published his preliminary advice in July 2019 and is satisfied with the Plan’s housing figures, its strategy and most of its housing allocations.

However, he has asked for the council to consider how it could redistribute 410 homes from a site originally proposed to the south east of Woodstock (known as site PR10).

Council officers have therefore prepared ‘Main Modifications’ on which additional views are being sought.

The Main Modifications are supported by a range of new evidence documents which include the consideration of alternative sites for the 410 homes.

During this further consultation, representations are only invited on the Main Modifications proposed. The document as a whole was widely consulted on in 2017 and this is an extension of this process based only on the specific changes to the plan.

The consultation goes live on Friday 8 November. The Main Modifications relate to proposed development sites in the Kidlington, Gosford, Yarnton and Begbroke area that have previously been consulted upon.

Comments should be received no later than 11.59pm on Friday 20 December 2019.
