North Oxfordshire businesses have a chance to shine following the launch of the 2020 Cherwell Business Awards.

With the support of headline sponsor Cherwell District Council, the awards are now going into their ninth year. Nominations open today, off the back of a successful launch event this morning (Tuesday 5 November).

Local business representatives came together to support the event, which took place at Norbar Torque Tools’ premises in Banbury. Entries are now being sought from all types of local enterprise, from large, established companies to not-for-profits and small independents.

Robert Jolley, Cherwell’s assistant director for growth and economy, said: “There are so many fantastic businesses and innovative entrepreneurs in north Oxfordshire. These awards are a way for us to make sure we give them the credit they are due – and encourage more of it.

“The process of entering can be hugely rewarding for those taking part. It offers the chance to network, get their name out there, and learn from previous winners – as we saw from the buzz at this morning’s launch event.

“With a wide range of categories, the awards capture the diverse organisations and individuals that make our district a great place to work and invest in. That includes charities, start-ups, and an award for businesses that are doing really well with sustainability.”

The deadline for nominations is 20 December 2019 and applications close on 14 February. The finalists are announced in April and the winners of the awards’ nine categories will be announced at a gala dinner to be held on 15 May 2020.
