Severe Weather Emergency Protocol activated

With cold weather forecast for tonight and over the next few days, the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) is currently in effect.

Published: Wednesday, 2nd January 2019

This is to ensure additional emergency beds are available for people sleeping rough when the temperature is expected to drop below zero for three consecutive days.

We expect the protocol to remain in effect over the next three days (from today, Wednesday, 2 January 2019) with more cold weather on the way.

If you have nowhere to sleep tonight or are concerned about someone who is homeless or sleeping rough, contact our housing options team on 01295 753751 (Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 5.15pm).

If you need to speak to us about this out of hours, please call 01295 221531.

If you see someone bedding down or sleeping rough, please report them via the Streetlink website or by calling 0300 500 0914. This will allow the outreach team to support individuals and identify the options available to them.
