People from the Bicester area are being invited to gain fresh insights into local employers and career opportunities at a unique event this month.

Skills in Bicester: Discover Your Future With Local Employers will lift the lid on some of the dynamic organisations which are active in the area. A range of top local businesses are attending the event to explain the opportunities presented by Bicester’s future growth, their own plans, and the skills they will require. It will take place on Thursday, 27 September.

To help people develop their confidence at interview, residents will be able to pitch their experience and skillsets to a panel of local businesspeople. Businesses will also be making presentations for those keen to find out about local employers and there will be the chance to talk to them informally at their exhibition stands.

Cllr Lynn Pratt, Cherwell’s lead member for estates and economy, said: “Bicester is full of high-profile businesses, but for people starting their careers or looking to make a career move, opportunities to meet business leaders can be rare and invaluable.

“As our town grows and attracts new investment, there will be a host of new opportunities for career development. We want local workers to have access to this information, because it can help inform their future goals and aspirations for training and development.”

Offering attendees a chance to grasp the breadth of employer activity in the town, the event will feature over 20 businesses including: Zeta Lighting, Brethertons, E P Barrus, Webmart, Bicester Village, Activate Learning, Perch Co-working space, and many more.

The event will run from 5.00pm to 7.30pm at Bicester Technology Studio on 27 September. To find out more and to register to attend see Skills in Bicester.
