Bicester businesses are being invited to showcase their work at an exciting event this September.

Enterprise in Bicester: A Skilled Workforce for the Future will home in on the opportunities presented by the growth planned for the town in the coming years. The day is packed full of interesting and informative exhibitions, interactive workshops and other engaging activities.
The high profile businesses so far attending include: British Bakels, Bicester Village (Value Retail), Brethertons Solicitors and Zeta Specialist Lighting. Offering expert insights into the future of the town, Adrian Lockwood, chair of the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) skills board and Adrian Colwell, Cherwell District Council’s executive director for place and growth, will be will be exploring how the development planned for Bicester can stimulate innovative business growth.
Cllr Lynn Pratt, Cherwell’s lead member for estates and economy, said: “The Bicester of tomorrow brings an array of opportunities that existing employers can prepare for straight away. We want businesspeople to make the most of the significant growth that the town is expecting, so I urge them to sign up as soon as possible.
“With some expert speakers presenting, it will be a fantastic opportunity for entrepreneurs to get a glimpse of the future, and consider how they can start planning for it today. It will also be a networking event, where people can raise the profile of their business within the wider town.”
Phil Shadbolt, chairman of Zeta Specialist Lighting, said: “Zeta is 100 per cent behind Enterprise in Bicester. We have nearly 1,200 businesses operating in Bicester, from sole trader through to large employers. With Bicester and Zeta growing as they are, skills are key to our ongoing success. Therefore, we feel Enterprise in Bicester offers an ideal opportunity to communicate with everyone what we do and the types of roles and skills that we will need in the months and years ahead.”
Other significant organisations already confirmed as attending include: EP Barrus, Integration Technology Ltd, and Perch Coworking. It is hoped that more businesses will follow suit by registering to take part.
The event is being run by Bicester Vision, Cherwell District Council and OxLEP. Also speaking at the event will be a representative of Highways England, who will give a presentation on the East-West Expressway.
