Homelessness review and strategy

Strategy Consultation

Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy consultation

We recently consulted on our draft Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2021–2026 which we have developed following a review of homelessness services in 2020 and the progress made to deliver the 2018-2020 Homelessness Strategy action plan.

The Consultation document provides a brief overview of the strategy, vision and the six priority areas of work that the council needs to focus on to make sure that obligations can be met, and services can be delivered effectively within the available staff and budget resources. The draft action plan sets out the actions we plan to take over the first two years of the strategy.

We have undertaken an assessment of the impact of delivering this strategy on individuals and groups, and on the wider community and environment. These are outlined in our Social and Community Impact Assessment.

Responses received during the seven-week consultation period between 30 November 2020 and 17 January 2021, are currently being considered. A report, along with the consultation responses and amended strategy documents, will be presented to the Executive in March 2021 for approval
