Kidlington Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) consultation
Residents of Kidlington are set to benefit from improvements that will encourage cycling and walking in and around the village with planning work starting soon.
Our officers in partnership with an external consultant are starting work on a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) for the village.
The goal of the LCWIP will be to identify infrastructure improvements needed to enable people to cycle and walk more within the town and from the surrounding areas.
But nobody knows Kidlington like the people who live there, and we’d like residents to help to develop the plan.
The current proposals provide an overview of the proposed cycle network and a summary of the proposed types of measures by location.
The proposed route network comprises of on-road cycle routes, existing and new traffic-free routes either as shared use paths or protected cycle lanes. On-road routes are created through the introduction of measures such as 20mph zones and low-traffic neighbourhoods. Descriptions and examples of the types of measures that have been proposed are also included in the document.
