Grants and assistance for landlords

Landlord’s Home Improvement Grant

Our Landlord’s Home Improvement Grant (LHIG) is available to fund up to 75% of the cost of agreed property improvements up to a maximum grant amount of £15,000.

In return, we ask that the property is then made available to become homes for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness through the Cherwell Bond Scheme. The period over which we may exercise nomination rights depends on the size of the grant awarded, up to a maximum of 5 years.

The LHIG can be used for a wide range of improvements to privately rented properties, but we will insist that works include anything needed to resolve serious hazards or otherwise required for the property to reach the Decent Homes Standard.

Full details are available in the Landlord's Home Improvement Grant Scheme Explanation.
