The Job
We are seeking dedicated officer with experience of working with complex and challenging clients to join the Housing Options team as a specialist working with single people who may be rough sleeping or at risk. The successful candidate will have experience of working with clients who are or have been at risk of being street homeless. You will be prepared to work out of the office with partners to proactively find housing solutions to our most vulnerable clients and ensuring clients have every opportunity to benefit from the duties of the Local Authority under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and services commissioned in Oxfordshire.
The Person
This is a challenging role, and you will be required to have excellent communication and negotiation skills. You will be dealing with complex clients often in emotional and stressful situations. You will need to be self-motivated and proactive in preventing homelessness and identifying housing options and solutions, setting up personal housing plans and monitoring outcomes for clients and the systems in place to help them. You will need to demonstrate experience of working with providers and partner agencies to deliver support to vulnerable people.

Working as part of a busy team you will need to work well under pressure, have the ability to multi-task and use your own initiative. You will build and manage your own caseload to Cherwell’s service standards and keep accurate records to ensure legal duties to clients are correctly reported.
