Brand new family homes have replaced an eyesore in Bicester, thanks Sanctuary Group and Cherwell District Council. The four new properties on George Street have been built on the site of derelict garages that had previously attracted some anti-social behaviour issues.Featuring energy efficiency measures such as double glazing and high levels of insulation, the two and three bedroom houses have been built to be sympathetic to the surrounding area.
The scheme was supported by an investment of around £98,000 from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
Cllr Debbie Pickford, Cherwell District Council's lead member for housing, said: "This is another successfully completed housing project brought about by partnership working between the council and Sanctuary
"These new units will provide homes for four local families. They will also benefit the wider community by helping to make the neighbourhood a very desirable place to live with anti-social behaviour on the site no longer an issue. I would like to thank Sanctuary for the positive contribution they have made to our community with these new homes and wish their new occupants a long and happy residency."
