Green Deal

What we do with your feedback

The Green Deal is a new national scheme that enables you to take out a loan for energy saving improvements to your home or business without having to pay any upfront costs.

The loan is recorded and repaid over time through your electricity bill. The repayments remain with the property, so if you move home the loan will continue to be repaid by the next occupants (who will be benefiting from the improvements) and doesn't transfer to your new home.

Energy-saving improvements include:

  • loft and cavity wall insulation
  • internal and external solid wall insulation
  • heating
  • draught-proofing
  • double glazing and secondary glazing
  • renewable energy technologies - e.g. solar panels or wind turbines

Green Deal Together

Green Deal is available through accredited Green Deal providers. We are working with a consortium of local authorities and the National energy foundation  to set up a new community interest company called Green DealTogether which will operate as a Green Deal provider and be able to help you with Green Deal. We are doing this because we think it will help give residents a Green Deal service they can have confidence in, but there will be other Green Deal providers and you can use any you choose.

As your local Green Deal provider, Green Deal Together will recommend the right energy-saving improvements for your home, ensure the cost is never more than you should save on your heating bills and sort the whole process for you.

Green Deal Together is working towards becoming an accredited Green Deal provider and is expected to launch in Summer 2014.

If you are interested in what Green Deal Together can do for you, contact them on 0300 111 3330 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) or Register an interest in our green deal provider service on-line.
