Our first 'Meet the Employer" event at Banbury Job Club will take place at Banbury Town Hall on Friday 25th August from 10am until 1pm.

Our first guest employers will be Waitrose and Home Instead North Oxfordshire. One-to-one careers advice appointments can also be pre-booked.

Waitrose, part of the John Lewis Partnership, are keen to meet people with a range of customer service skills who can share in making their new Banbury store a real success. It's a great chance if you missed the opportunity to speak with them at our Employment and Careers Fair in July.

May 2017: Bicester Green now recruiting for two part-time job vacancies: Outreach and Promotional Assistant (1 day per week) and Bike Mechanic (1.25 days per week)

Bicester Green is a Centre for skills, sustainability and second hand stuff. We operate by intercepting items that are destined for landfill and use them as catalyst for learning in our workshop.

We are a place for sharing skills between people, inviting those with knowledge of repair of bikes, furniture and electrical items to share their skills with those who would benefit from learning.

An exciting opportunity is currently available to join the Bicester Green Team as a Part Time Outreach and Promotional Assistant.

We are also seeking a part time Bike Mechanic to increase the capacity and skills of the bike workshop and its participants, by increasing volunteer skills and the repair rate of bikes destined for re-sale.

Both roles are fixed term, finishing end October 2017.

May 2017: Banbury Town Council has a vacancy for a Park Ranger

Banbury Town Council provides a wide range of local services to our 45,000 population. Our annual expenditure is £1.7M, over half of which is spent on outside services such as Parks, Open Spaces, Play Areas, Cemeteries and Allotments and on our vibrant programme of events.Y Park Rangers provide a high profile, uniformed presence supporting these services.

We are looking for someone with a wide skill set and a "can do" attitude. An ability to undertake minor civil engineering works, general maintenance and repairs will be needed. In addition to construction skills, possession of a New Roads & Street Works Act qualification would be an advantage, as would an ability to drive and operate a truck (below 7.5 tonnes) fitted with a HIAB crane. You will undertake regular inspections of our sites, including Play Areas, and will need an awareness of health and safety issues.

Our Park Rangers work weekends and evenings as part of the team's work rota, to support our out of hours services and town events. The hours worked will vary according to the season, with more worked during British Summer time, but on average will be 37 hours per week.

The National Citizen Service (NCS) programme equips young people (aged 15-17) with skills they cannot learn in the classroom.

Every year it helps young people in the county build skills for work & life while taking on exciting challenges, making new friends and contributing to their community. And for the adults that give up their time to make it happen it's an incredibly rewarding experience.

Summary of role:

This role presents an exciting opportunity for the successful applicants to be involved with the HS2 project between London and Leamington Spa.

Key responsibilities will involve day to day liaison with landowners / farmers and occupiers affected by the project's enabling works.
