Anyone that carries out tattooing, ear piercing and electrolysis must be registered with us.

This is a requirement of the The Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982. 

The following types of skin piercing have to be registered with us:

• acupuncture
• tattooing
• ear-piercing
• electrolysis.

The premises and persons carrying out the skin piercing activity are also required to be registered.
