What we do with your feedback

Residents living in the Cherwell district that are in receipt of an eligible benefit (see qualifying criteria below) or would benefit from using leisure facilities following a recommendation from a medical professional could be entitled to a Cherwell Link Card which provides a 50% discount on some recreational activities.

To be eligible for a Cherwell Link Card, one of the following criteria must apply to the applicant:

  • Disability Living Allowance / Personal Independent Payment
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Industrial Disablement Allowance
  • War Disablement Allowance
  • Long term Incapacity Benefit
  • Employment Support Allowance (Support Component Only)
  • Severe Disablement Allowance
  • A 'blue badge' parking permit
  • Medical grounds (to be supported by a medical professional - GP, Health or Social Services)

For an administration fee of £5 the Cherwell Link Card offers 12 months (renewable annually) half-price admission to all of our swimming pools and fitness gyms. The card also offers many other activities including ten-pin bowling in Bicester, and if you are a young person who has a Link Card, 50% discount on our holiday activities.

This is excellent value for money with the £5 administration fee being recouped in just 3 swimming visits or 2 gym visits. Please see leaflet available as a download for the full activities list, additional information and how to apply.

If a carer is required to assist please attach proof of this to the application form - Higher rate care Component of Disability Living Allowance, Support Component of Employment Support Allowance or a letter from a medical professional.  There will be no admission charge for a carer, unless they would like to participate in the activities.  If this is the case, the carer will need to pay the full admission price.

Application forms are available from any of our LinkPoints or can be downloaded from the website. The administration fee is payable by credit or debit card over the telephone by calling 01295 221803.   You will be given a payment reference number which you will need to write on your application form.  Alternatively you can pay by cash by using one of the payment kiosks located at the LinkPoints at Bodicote House, Castle Quay - Banbury, Bicester and Kidlington. The receipt will need to be attached to the application form.  Completed forms should be returned by post to Cherwell District Council, PO Box 27, Bodicote, Banbury, Oxon OX15 4AA along with one passport photo and proof of eligibility.
