What is the job club?

Job clubs will help people at all stages of their job search.

They will find:

  • a place for local employers to look for local recruits
  • up to date listings of local job vacancies
  • online computers to help search and apply for jobs
  • expert advisors on hand to help with careers advice and free training or new skills opportunities
  • financial assistance, allowance and benefits advice
  • special workshops in areas such as CVs, application forms, interview techniques, career areas such as catering or becoming a teaching assistant
  • support to those considering starting their own business or who run a small business that may be struggling and in need of advice and guidance

Cllr Barry Wood, Leader of the Council said at the Bicester job club launch:

"From our perspective, it is one of the our top priorities to support the community through the economic crisis, particularly respond to the growing demands from businesses and job seekers caught up in the downturn. We have redirected resources and staff into this area to provide dedicated support to initiatives such as the successful Banbury job club and now the Bicester job club."
