Cherwell Community and Voluntary Service is a non profit making local development agency which has no attachments to government. It has charitable status and a wide variety of associated members.

Cherwell Community and Voluntary Service exists to help voluntary groups in North Oxfordshire.

It's functions are:

To develop initiatives in the voluntary sector
To provide services to local voluntary organisations
To aid co-operation between voluntary bodies, local authorities and statutory agencies.

It's aims are:

To respond to the needs of local voluntary bodies
To act as a focus for the co-ordination between statutory bodies and voluntary organisations
To avoid duplication of effort
To support and encourage new voluntary initiatives in the community.
