What happens to my planning application?

The forms are checked to make sure they are properly completed and that all the required documents and the current fees are included. If further details are required, we will write to the applicant/agent.

Once validated all applications become public documents and may be inspected at Bodicote House, Planning Reception or on the website via the Public Access system. In addition, the relevant Town or Parish Council will have copies.

Letters are normally sent to neighbours and site notices are posted in respect of applications affecting trees, listed buildings, conservation areas, public footpaths and for major applications. The planning officer visits the site if necessary and will then assess the application in the light of comments received and development plan policies and other material considerations.

You will be advised of the outcome by letter.
