What we do with your feedback

Your blue bin recycling collection

What goes in the blue box/bin:
(contents are recycled)

  • Image depicting Blue bin/box
    Blue bin/box and contents
    Paper (inc. shredded paper)
  • Tins and cans
  • Cardboard
  • Drinks cartons
  • Tin foil and foil trays
  • Magazines and newspapers
  • Aerosols
  • Plastic bottles and containers (any hard plastic packaging, including pots, tubs and trays)

It is not essential to wash and squash recyclables but this will avoid the bin smelling and will give you more space. You do not have to remove labels from cans or plastic bottles.

What stays out:

  • Glass Image depicting Batteries and Small electrical items

  • Textiles
  • Carrier/black bags
  • Disposable nappies
  • Cling film
  • Polystyrene
  • Crisp and sweet packets

Most residents have more in their blue bins, than they do in the green bin. So any extra recycling can be put out next to the blue bin, in a clear plastic sack, or cardboard box. If you regularly have extra recycling then you can purchase an extra blue bin for just £15 online or £18 if you call 01295 227003. Order additional blue bins

Please note

Glass bottles and jars can be recycled at one of our pdf recycling bank sites (520kb)across the district. They can also be recycled at both Alkerton and Ardley waste and recycling centres.
