Listed buildings

A 'listed building' is a building, object or structure that has been judged to be of national historical or architectural interest.

What the service is for:

We are responsible for considering applications to demolish a listed building or for any alteration or extension which would affect its character as a building of architectural or historic interest.

How you can access the service:

The Listed Building register is available to view at the Council Offices at Bodicote House.

You can also view listed buildings using our online mapping system YourCherwell Conservation - each listed building contains a link to a photo or description of the building directly from the English Heritage website.  For further detail please see the YourCherwell user guide (right).

Alternatively you can send/fax in a site plan to the Council Offices identifying the property and a member of staff will contact you to tell you if the property is listed.

Information regarding listed buildings can also be found on the English Heritage website.
