The communications team is responsible for managing our relationship with the media, providing news and information on all activities and decisions.
The communications team prepare and issue press releases and statements on behalf of executive members and departments ensuring that news is effectively targeted. We provide professional advice on media-handling issues, prepare communication strategies for key initiatives and organise interviews, photocalls and press conferences. In addition, we ensure communication with the media is kept within the law.
The team monitors press coverage, alerting members and departments to stories running in the media.
It also provides a weekly media digest of coverage the previous week.
