We issue a range of licences and some are issued by the county council and other organisations.
We consider applications for the following types of licences:

- Caravan sites
- Collecting for charity - door to door collections
- Collecting for charity - street collections
- Dog Breeding
- Exotic, dangerous or wild animals

- Horse riding establishments
- Pet shop
- Private hire vehicle (minicab) operators
- Private hire vehicle (minicab) (see 'licences handled by other organisations' below if you are a voluntary organisation)
- Sex establishments
- Street trading
- Scrap metal site
- Sunday trading (restrictions apply to large businesses only)
- Tattoo, piercing and electrolysis
- Taxis (hackney carriages)
- Taxis (hackney carriages) - driving
The county council considers applications for the following types of licences:
- Banners above a highway
- Public entertainment
- Explosives and fireworks
- Filming on the public highway
- Petroleum
- Places of worship
- Scaffolding or hoarding
- Skips
- Wedding venues
The following licences are handled by other organisations:

- Tree felling - Forestry Commission
- Waste carrier - Environment Agency
