Find out about rural funding

Businesses and community groups in rural north Oxfordshire are being invited to find out about funding opportunities at a special event being run next Wednesday in Kirtlington.

Cherwell District Council's economic growth service is promoting LEADER grants as part of its package of support for businesses in the district. People can find out about the grants at an event on Wednesday, 13 September, at Kirtlington Village Hall, from 11.15 am to 12.15pm.

The LEADER grants are available as part of the EU funded Rural Development Programme for England. The scheme aims to support a wide range of rural activities including: farm productivity and diversification, forestry productivity, tourism, community services, heritage and culture and small business development.

Individual projects can apply for up to £100,000 funding and the grants will be available until March 2019. The event offers the opportunity to find out more about the type of projects funded; there will be a presentation at 11.30am and the chance to ask questions.

In Cherwell, most rural parishes south of Deddington are eligible for Oxfordshire LEADER funding, whilst Hook Norton is eligible under the Cotswolds LEADER scheme.

Those planning to attend the event or wanting more information about the scheme should email  or 01295 221780.
