Swimmers looking to make the most of Banbury's outdoor pool have less than two weeks left to enjoy the facility before it closes its doors for the final time this year. From Monday, 1 September, Woodgreen Open Air Pool reverted back to its term time opening hours ahead of its full closure at 7.30pm on Friday, 12 September.
The change from summer to term-time opening hours reflects the beginning of the new school year and although public swimming will still be available all day on Saturday and Sunday, it will be limited to just two-and-a-half hours each weekday.
Cllr George Reynolds, deputy leader for Cherwell, said: "To a lot of people the opening of Woodgreen Open Air Pool indicates the beginning of summer and once again it has been another fabulous year with thousands of people turning out to enjoy the facility in the sunshine.
"However just like the opening of the pool marks the start of summer, the return to school marks its end and in turn it also signifies the closure of the facility for another year."
Throughout its summer opening hours the pool had been open for public swimming between 10am and 5pm daily. However with the return to term-time hours public swimming will now be limited to between 3pm and 5.30pm during the week, although still available full time at weekends.
Early bird sessions and lane swimming will still be available at selected times during the week.
Admission prices remain unchanged and each session will still cost £3.90 for an adult or £2.50 for a child. All day public swim sessions remain the same at £7.45 for an adult or £4.50 for a child.
