Brown bin and caddyOnly the following materials can be placed in the brown bin:

• food waste cooked and uncooked                      
• prunings
• pet straw and sawdust
• grass cuttings
• plants and leaves

Please do not put any of the following in your brown bin: 

• soil, bricks and rubble
• animal waste
• ash
• plastic of any kind, including bin liners, plastic bags and cling film
• disposable nappies
• general household waste

All food waste, cooked and uncooked can go into the brown bin either in a compostable caddy liner, wrapped in newspaper or loose.

Please do not put the kitchen caddy out for collection.

The brown bin is collected every two weeks from the kerbside. Please ensure that your container is placed at the edge of your property by 7am on the collection day. To find out your collection day, go to the collection calendar on the right hand side of this page.
